Mafeteng- As part of celebration of their celebration of 20 years anniversary, Botho University joined in the Hlokomela banana initiative by donating sanitary towels to Khasipane High School girls in Mafeteng.
It is at this contribution that the Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso at her capacity as the Initiative founder spoke and emphasized on the importance of a girl in a country. She said girls are the future strong future women therefore they need to be taken care of.
“We are proud of you as girls so be proud of youth too, find fun in attending school. Listen to your parents and guardians. Focus on school right now because time will come for you to become married women”, she appealed to the girls.
She went on to plea with boys that they should support girls because they are siblings especially because what they go through is nature.
Expressing his thanks regarding this deed, the Principal of the said high school said what Botho University has done is a sign of love; and the fact that it happens in Woman’s month touches their hearts in an unimaginable way.
“This school has 220 scholars, 85 are orphans, and 48 are girls. Therefore, with such actions their needs are met especially because it is not everyone who affords to buy a pack of this sanitary towels. We are for this reason really grateful”, he stated.
Reiterating on this, on behalf of the students Mamoreki Khothu said,
“We are really happy for this gifts because we have incidents where some of our classmates do not attend classes when they are on their periods due to lack of dignity kits, thus missing their classes so this means we will all attend school even when it is “nature” time”.
